Doha: Birla Public School (BPS) celebrated ‘World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5, 2021 declaring the message, ‘Save Lives- Clean Your Hands’ - the most appropriate theme for the Day.
The activities of World Hand Hygiene Day at Birla Public School highlighted the significance of maintaining global promotion, visibility, and sustainability of hand hygiene in health care. The main idea of observing the day was to recognise hand washing as one of the most effective actions that can be taken to avoid a huge range of infections including the COVID-19 pandemic.
A special virtual interactive session was organised with the Birla Kindergarteners. The facilitators enlightened the students about the importance of maintaining continuous personal hygiene.
The students were inspired to clean their hands thoroughly with the activities planned for the day. The students were also encouraged to prepare posters related to hand hygiene and awareness of the importance of handwashing was emphasised. The response from students through posters and pictures was overwhelming.
Students under the able guidance of the teachers in the EVS Department and English Department participated in the varied activities like hand washing- chart making, composing jingles and many more.
