Doha: The Qatar Petroleum Refinery in Mesaieed Industrial City recently distributed summer packs to more than 600 contractor staff as part of its annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Distribution was held on June 19 as workers came to work at 5.30am.
Each package contained a 1.2-litre water container, sunglasses, a cap, a face cover for protection from sunlight, bottled water and a pack of juice.
Contents for the packages were collected through donations from employees of the refinery.
Distribution was attended by officials, including Ahmed Mohd Al Emadi, Manager of Health, Safety & Environment (Refining), Ismail Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of Environment & Hygiene, Ahmed Ali Al Shamsi, Head of Fire Services, Abdulrahman Mahmoud Al Abdulla, Head of Safety, and Nasser Ahmad Al Neama, Senior Safety Officer.
In his comments on the occasion, Al-Emadi said: “This activity is part of our initiatives to care for and see to the welfare of all contractor staff who work in the QP Refinery.
“We appreciate their important role in ensuring efficient operation of the refinery and this is just one way in which we show our gratitude to their contribution.
“We hold this activity twice a year — one during the summer and the other during winter months,” he added.
