DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) and Qatar Meteorological Department at Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) yesterday signed an agreement to ensure exclusive ownership of intellectual property rights (IPRs) for the engineering and design concept of an outdoor air-conditioning system for football stadiums and other open places. QCAA will provide AZF with two decades worth of meteorological studies on Qatar.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Director General of Aspire Logistics, a subsidiary of AZF, Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, and Head of the Qatar Meteorological Department, Ahmed Abdullah, on behalf of the QCAA chairman.

“Signing this memorandum further supports AZF’s aim to foster research initiatives that strengthen the foundation’s standing on the global platform as a source of technological innovation in sport. International recognition of our IPR ownership for several internally developed innovations is additional proof of this,” said Al Mahmoud.
