Doha: Aspire Zone Foundation’s “Walkabout” is set to come to a close after Eid following an extremely successful three months in operation that saw members of the community take advantage of the Aspire Zone facilities.
Launched on August 7, the Walkabout was originally a two-week service where all members of the community could walk through the magnificent Aspire Dome to escape the summer heat during Ramadan. However, due to its popularity and overwhelming demand from the public, the service was extended twice.
Aspire Dome opens its doors daily for all those who love to walk between 3pm to 9pm, and welcomes them to use its facilities and take leisurely strolls inside the Aspire Dome, with different paths available.
Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, Director General of Aspire Logistics, said:
“Providing access to the public to the Aspire Dome is a gesture that reflects the growing interest Aspire Zone Foundation is taking in leisure activities within the community.
It also demonstrates Aspire Zone’s ongoing desire to encourage the public to take an active interest in exercise and provide the facilities and initiatives to do so.”
“The Walkabout will be back next summer when the weather gets hotter. This walkathon and our indoor facilities provide a great way for people to keep their fitness levels up during the season,” he added.
The Walkabout joins a slew of other community inspired events that are designed to support Aspire Zone’s vision to encourage a healthy lifestyle through fun and popular physical activities such as walking, running, and swimming.
