DOHA: A security threat hoax at the bus terminal off Grand Hamad Street late last evening disrupted Mowasalat bus services for close to an hour-and-a-half, eye witnesses said.
The police descended on the terminus after they were understandably informed that a briefcase was seen kept for hours on end below a bench meant for waiting commuters.
A police search party, according to eye witnesses, came there with sniffer dogs and cordoned off the entire area for a while and eventually discovered that the briefcase that raised the suspicion of security threat might have been left away by a commuter.
Buses coming in from different routes were made to wait outside the terminus for as long as the search went on. Life turned to normalcy after the search was over.
