Qatar Embassy issues guidelines for citizens travelling to US during FIFA World Cup

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Embassy in Washington has issued a list of guidelines for its citizens to follow while travelling to the United States of America during the FIFA World Cup 2026. 

The list includes a few general precautionary measures, apart from travelling tips and their contact details in case of an emergency.  

The full list of guidelines are given below:  

- Ensure passport validity for no less than six months from the date of travel, obtain the appropriate visa, and comply with the permitted period of stay in the United States.
- Purchase match tickets only from official platforms to avoid fraud.
- Book accommodation and transportation early due to expected congestion.
- Take care not to lose personal documents, and keep paper and electronic copies of passports, visas, tickets, and reservations.
- Check the content on phones and electronic devices, and avoid storing or resharing any sensitive content that could be misunderstood.
- Avoid carrying prohibited substances or medications not authorised by prescription.
- Comply with local laws in the host countries and cities.
- Beware of theft and pickpocketing in crowded places, and use reliable means of transport.
- Follow official instructions issued by FIFA and the relevant authorities during the tournament, and download the FIFA World Cup 2026 app to stay informed of any updates.
