Doha: Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (Tasweeq), in cooperation with Qatar Petroleum’s Industrial Cities Directorate, is sponsoring an environmental awareness campaign in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Industrial cities to educate employees on saving energy and conserving nature.
The campaign, entitled ‘Go Green to Save Energy and Preserve Nature’, aims at informing everyone on how they can help protect the environment by consuming less energy at work and home.
“We are proud to sponsor the campaign of QP Industrial Cities.
“Tasweeq is always supportive of environment-friendly initiatives to further create awareness about nature preservation,” said Saad Al Kuwari, CEO, Tasweeq.
The Industrial Cities Directorate has been promoting HSE initiatives and campaigns in both industrial cities for several years.
Tasweeq is sponsoring two of these campaigns, the ‘Go Green’ currently running and the second one to be launched in November.
Tasweeq is urging everyone in both industrial cities to contribute to saving energy and preserving nature.
Under the campaign, leaflets have been printed and distributed in all areas of Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Industrial cities.
Large campaign billboards have also been put up and an online campaign has been implemented to create awareness across all employees.
The initiative is within Tasweeq’s CSR strategy for 2014.
The ‘Go Green’ campaign was launched on June 16 in both industrial cities.
It highlights measures to save energy and conserve nature.
They include using rechargeable batteries, donating used items such as furniture, clothes and electronics instead of throwing them way, reusing scrap paper by printing on both sides, cleaning the air filters of air-conditioners every two weeks, and ensuring optimal tyre pressure of vehicles to avoid increased rolling resistance.
