Kolkata: The braveheart techie, who jumped out of a moving train to save herself from a molester and is admitted at a city nursing home, hopes that her tormentor will be caught very soon, her family members said yesterday.
The 25-year-old, working with an IT major in the city, received serious injuries after she jumped off the train on Sunday to save herself from a molester who targeted her finding her alone inside a train compartment. The incident happened near Belur station in Howrah district.
“Her condition is stable now and she chatted briefly with us. She said she was hopeful police will apprehend the molester soon,” said the victim’s
brother.
With West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee intervening in the matter, the victim’s brother is hopeful of getting justice. “She (Banerjee) had called me on Sunday assuring all help. With her active intervention and police working round the clock, we are confident the man will be arrested soon,” said the brother.
Meanwhile police, yet to make any headway in the case, said it was in the process of making sketches of the culprit. “We have not been able to make any arrest so far. But then we are in process of reconstructing the crime. We will soon talk to the victim and based on her description we will release sketches of the culprit and circulate in all police stations. We will apprehend the culprit soon,” said Additional Director General (Railways) Amar Kanti Sarkar.
Police, however, are yet to talk to victim who yesterday underwent several medical tests. IANS
