• Owners and managers of car agencies in many areas, including Salwa Road, urged authorities to provide them with large plots in the Industrial Area to display their vehicles. They said they are facing space limit and the Traffic Department fine them when they park their vehicles on roadsides in front of their offices. They also called upon authorities to stop fining them, taking into account the problems they are facing and until they find a solution with the support of the concerned authorities.
• Some people suggested expansion of the Umani market. They said the market is witnessing crowds and many customers enter with their cars which leads to the passage being jammed. They also suggested that cars should be prevented from entering the market.
• People complained about some car agencies and said they are selling old vehicles, which have been involved in accidents. They said these agencies are alluring customers with competitive prices and advertisements through the Internet.
• There were talks on social media about the announcement made by the Traffic Department that it is going to take strict action against motorists who park their vehicles behind others and obstruct the movement of vehicles. The directorate said punishments include the seizure of cars involved.
• People complained again against stunts and shows on the streets by young motorists at late night in some neighbourhoods, particularly those dominated by bachelors. They said the daredevilry is on the rise due to the absence of traffic police.
• Some people urged construction companies and contractors to reconsider their ways of implementing projects, with a focus on safety and security rules. They said many firms and contractors do not put up sign boards while some boards are left on the ground even when excavation work is ongoing. This negligence has put the lives of the people, especially children, at risk.
• Some citizens demanded that the government look after the old traditional markets such as Al Dera and Al Jaber and should carry out regular maintenance to preserve them.
