Doha: The Haj Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs opened up registration for the Haj season of the 1434 Hijri year. The registration can be done via the committee’s website http://hajj.gov.qa
Qatari and GCC nationals can start registering until Ramadan 20, while residents of Qatar can sign up starting today, with the deadline midway through Ramadan.
The Director of the Haj Committee, Youssef Nasser Al Sulaiti, called on those going to sign up to ensure that they provide accurate information. He added that any incomplete or inaccurate registration will be null and void.
He added that couples should register as one, by listing the wife as a companion. Qatari and GCC nationals are allowed two companions, while residents are allowed one.
Al Sulaiti also said that Qatar’s quota for this year remains at its usual 1,500 people despite the announcement made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reduce the number due to maintenance work.
