Doha: The Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has activated a partnership with Lulu Hypermarket to serve the community by lowering price of goods and services, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and make commercial companies sponsor charitable projects undertaken by RAF.
Lulu Hypermarket company has begun to support charitable activities and so far 20 commercial companies have earmarked 215 commodities for charity work.
Lulu Hypermarket branches have begun to dedicate places to display brochures of humanitarian programme currently undertaken by RAF within and outside Qatar. While presenting goods, a margin of profit has been allocated for charity projects.
Ibrahim Abdulla, Marketing and Media Department Manager, RAF, said the charity seeks to serve the Qatari society in a way consistent with its own objectives and vision.
“We view the agreement rather in the perspective of a broader moral and civilisation initiative,” Abdullah said.
“It demonstrates how Qatari society, as represented by its companies, institutions and individuals, is so coherent.
It shows the human side of the Qatari citizen, who is benevolent and good by nature and known for his natural tendency to give and who is keen to purchase goods and products that support charity work.”
Mohamed Althaf, Director, Lulu Hypermarket Group, expressed gratitude and happiness over cooperation extended by commercial companies.
Althaf said the Group attempts to reach out to the largest segment of Qatari citizens and expats to satisfy their household and individual food requirements, which is a major objective of the agreement.
