Joud Mall is set to be officially opened in the first quarter of 2015.

Doha: Tanween has commenced leasing its latest project Joud Mall in Barwa Real Estate’s Barwa Commercial Avenue.
During ‘Cityscape’, Tanween had signed a 10-year head lease on the mall with Barwa Real Estate. Tanween established a company, Tanween Retail, to act as the retail advisory and management arm of Tanween and which will be fully responsible for the management of the mall.
Retail operators of international brands in Qatar are in talks with Tanween Retail to select available locations.
Mohamed Fakhro, CEO, Tanween, said, “Joud Mall is distinguished by many unique selling propositions, especially its presence in a new and promising area in Doha, surrounded by growing residential communities in nearby areas, such as Ain Khaled, Barwa City, Abu Hamour, Al Mamoura, Al Wakra and Wukair.
‘The mall is unique in being the only one at Barwa Commercial Avenue, covering 91,000sqm of built-up area and a net leasable area of close to 65,000sqm.
“It encompasses over 130 retail units, six screen cinemas, two large family entertainment areas for children and teenagers; two  food courts with nearly 40 outlets for fast food and casual dining restaurants as well as coffee shops.
“It also has 82 serviced apartments, a 4,300sqm medical centre and a business centre in addition to 10,700sqm of office space.
“The mall will be a destination for families looking for popular international brands, with a focus on children and family offering such as fashion, entertainment, sporting goods, restaurants, large recreational areas, electronics and household products, among others.
“The presence of a health centre has added benefits where we can say that the mall will meet its customers’ expectations; it will not only serve residents in the surrounding areas, but will become a destination for families in other areas in Qatar.”
He said units will be handed over to tenants in phases, providing them ample time to finalise their fit-out needs. The official opening will be during the first quarter of 2015 as construction work is complete and municipality and civil defence approvals have been obtained. The Peninsula
