BAGHDAD: An improvised explosive device went off on Wednesday evening in northern Baghdad killing four persons and wounding 10 others.
Police source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the improvised explosive device emplaced in an outdoor market in Qahira neighborhood, northern Baghdad.
The blast also damaged nearby shops and cars.
Another explosive device exploded Thursday at a house in the old Basra area west of the center of the province.
A security source told NINA "The explosion targeted a house in the old Basra area that sells alcoholic beverages."
He pointed out that "the incident resulted in the destruction of the front of the house without casualties."
Meanwhile, a security source in the leadership of the Army twelfth Division declared the arrest of four members of the so-called Free Army in a security operation west of Kirkuk.
He said that a special force from the leadership of the 12th Iraqi Army Division arrested four members of the Free Army in Zab district, 95 km west of Kirkuk.
Meanwhile, the security forces found a cache of ammunition belongs to the so-called Islamic State of Iraq near Hawija, west of Kirkuk included 16 bomb and rockets, shells and explosive materials.
On the other hand, gunmen attacked an Army checkpoint near the village of Mahmudiya, 30 km west of Kirkuk, by three mortar shells and clashes took place without casualties. (QNA)
