DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has strengthened the media readiness of its administrative leadership with the completion of a specialised training course on dealing with the media, attended by nine directors of administrative units.

Organised in cooperation with the Al Jazeera Media Institute, the “Media Handling Skills” course was held from September 13 to 17, 2026, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop leadership capabilities, strengthen institutional communication and equip its officials with the skills needed to engage effectively and professionally with the public and different media platforms.

The week-long course was delivered by Al Jazeera journalist Ahmed Taha and focused on practical skills and applications related to media engagement, effective communication with audiences and professional media appearances across different platforms.

The programme forms part of institutional cooperation between the Ministry and the Al Jazeera Media Institute in developing human resources and enhancing communication and media skills. It also reflects the Ministry’s efforts to benefit from specialised professional expertise to improve the preparedness of its administrative leaders in handling different media situations.

The course introduced participants to the tools and working mechanisms of different media outlets, while providing practical guidance on handling media interviews and press conferences.

Its main topics included different types of media interviews and methods of preparing for them, as well as techniques for organising and managing press conferences. Participants were also introduced to approaches for dealing with various media platforms and developing clear and effective institutional messages.

The training further covered skills for presenting institutional positions and explaining them clearly and professionally, along with techniques for handling multi-guest interviews and media discussions under different professional circumstances.

Participants also received practical training on responding to media questions and inquiries, helping build confidence during media appearances and strengthening their ability to represent the Ministry effectively at official events, meetings and media engagements.

The programme placed particular emphasis on practical applications, with participants engaging in professional exercises and scenarios designed to simulate real-world media environments. This approach helped translate theoretical knowledge into practical skills that can be applied directly.

The course contributed to enhancing participants’ readiness to deal professionally with different media outlets and strengthen their skills win managing interviews, official meetings and public communication.
