DOHA: A draft law being currently reviewed by the Advisory Council seeks to authorise the Ministry of Finance to prioritise development projects and make benchmarks for prioritising these projects with other government agencies and monitor their progress as part of its overall responsibility of preparing and monitoring state budgets.
The draft legislation has 45 articles divided into seven chapters. It was referred to the Advisory Council by the State Cabinet. The Council has forwarded it to its Financial and Economic Affairs Committee for review and recommendations, QNA reports. The draft is about regulating the state’s financial system (fiscal policies and state budgets).
