DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange index dropped 266.19 points (1.94 percent) when the bourse closed trading at 13,423.83 points Tuesday.
Indices of all sectors took a beating today. Insurance plummeted by 4.18 percent to 3,879.44 points, telecommunications dropped 3.51 percent to 1,457.53 points and industries 2.84 percent to 4,378.87 points.
The market capitalization decreased to QR 731.292 billion from QR 742.436 registered Monday.
The trading value steeply increased to QR 3.626 billion from QR 862.56 Million registered Monday.
The trading volume, too, spiralled to 31,110,512 shares from 11,657 transactions, an increase by 180 percent compared to 11,122,387 shares from 7,933 transactions registered Monday.
From the 43 listed companies, 31 declined, ten gained and two remained unchanged. (QNA)
