Doha: MES Indian School bagged the overall championship at the ‘Interschool Dance and Music Video Contest’ organised recently by Birla Public School.
The competitions were held in western music, patriotic song, western dance and classical dance for different categories such as sub-junior, junior, intermediate, and senior. MES participated in all 14 events and won prizes in nine items.
Aaesha Fathima Basheer of Class V and Eshaal Abdul Saleem of Class X won first prizes in Classical Dance junior category and Western Dance Senior Category respectively. Sohan Sandeep of Class II (Dance Sub Junior category), Parvathi Krishna of Class V (Western Dance Junior category), Prarthana Shaju Nair of Class VIII (Classical Dance Intermediate category) and Arundhathi Gopikrishnan of Class X (Classical Dance, senior category) secured second prizes.
Anna Lorance of Class V, Krishnabala Das of Class IX, and Bharathi Prathyuksh of Class VIII won third prize each in Patriotic song (Junior), Western Music and Senior Western Dance Intermediate categories respectively.
Anwar V.P, Kavitha, Sivgowri, Seema and Rajani S.N (Department of Fine Arts), trained the students for the contest. Anver K and Sumitha Abdul Naser were the coordinators from MES Indian School.
