DOHA: Prince Michael of Kent, first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and patron of World Class Learning Schools (WCLS), inaugurated Compass International Doha School’s (CIDS) developments yesterday at Idam restaurant at the Museum of Islamic Art.   The Prince also toured CIDS campuses at Al Rayyan and Madinat Khalifa opened an art exhibition and was presented a commemorative plaque.

Hugh McPherson, CEO for WCLS, said: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome our Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent on a flying visit to Doha to inaugurate our campuses.  Sharing Qatar’s exceptional standards in education, CIDS personalises learning to enable remarkable progress for every student.”

One of the school’s major developments, McPherson said, is the establishment of another branch in Doha in addition to the three campuses in Madinat Khalifa, Al Rayyan and Al Khor which currently has over 1,000 multinational students aged 3 to 15 years. CIDS is part of WCLS network of 1,500 schools in 65 countries.

Robin Campbell, CIDS Headteacher, said: “At CIDS we invite our students to learn and thrive in a culture of international diversity and awareness on an unparalleled learning journey.  Our teachers impart our philosophy of learning to students that makes connections between new and existing knowledge, skills and understanding to adapt to our changing world.”
