DOHA: The first-ever Perfumery Exhibition of Qatar (PEQ) promises to take the art of scent to a new level with the presence of international and local brands and a host of exciting events when it opens on May 16 at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
Originally slated to be held this month, the first of its kind perfume expo in the region was moved to next month with additional events in the four-day programme to ‘Flare the Sensations’ of visitors.
“One of the reasons for the postponement was we added new events which will run on the sidelines of the expo, which we will announce soon before the expo kicks off,” said Abadi Qataa, Managing Director, White Hands Media, organisers of the event at the press conference yesterday at St Regis Doha.
The exhibition is set to be a memorable inaugural event with the presence of big stars whose names would be revealed very soon, said Qataa.
The main goal of the PEQ is to foster and encourage the art and science of perfumery in Qatar while promoting professional exchange and high standard within the fragrance industry.
In line with this, another feature of the PEQ is a symposium where leading members of the fragrance industry would be invited to speak and present information on various aspects of the industry.
The expo will comprise five sections namely local suppliers and distributors section, international brands, Arabic and oriental perfume section, informative section and live demonstration section.
Iconic names and perfumers from all over the world such as France, US, Italy, Holland and England as well as prominent and trusted names in authentic scents from Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar would be present at the expo.
The informative section will allow perfumers and perfume researchers share insights and develop new ideas while the live demonstration section will showcase experts blending scents to cater to a person’s desire.
“This exhibition, which is the first of its kind in the region, will be held annually and every year we are committed to introducing new events,” said Qataa.
“We are keen on organising a successful exhibition which provides satisfaction to customers. For a short period since its inception, White Hands Media is being acknowledged in the media industry and we want to move to the next level which is competition,” said CEO of White Hands Media, Mohammed Azazy.
