The Philippines Ambassador to Qatar, Alan Timbayan ceremonially opening the Ambassador’s Cup 2017 tournament in the presence of players and officials at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.
One of the popular basketball events in Doha's sports calendar, Pinoy Basketball of Qatar (PIBAQ) Ambassador’s Cup 2017 got off to an exciting start following a colourful opening ceremony held at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall recently.
The Philippines Ambassador to Qatar, Alan Timbayan graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The tournament, organised by Qatar Basketball Federation in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Doha and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), promises to be an exciting and inclusive as ever with the success of the Rising Division which will now be on its second season.
The Inter-company Division was also launched to provide the basketball-loving employees of an organisation a means of recreation. The much awaited Premiere Division is back featuring the very best Filipino basketball players in Qatar, among them were former professional and varsity players back in the Philippines.
