KABUL: Seventeen Taliban militants were killed in a joint operation carried out by the Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) during the past 24 hours in various parts of the country.
The Afghani interior ministry said its forces and ISAF carried out several operations in various parts of the country killing 17 Taliban militants, injuring 11 and arresting 9.
In a statement today, the ministry said that the operations were carried out in the provinces of Ghazni, Herat, Maidan Wardak, Qandahar, Kunduz, Baghlan, Parwan, Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Logar, adding that they seized a quantity of weapons during the operation.
The ministry did not mention any losses in the ranks of the security forces. (QNA)
