LAHORE: Banners sporting snapshots of the supposedly youngest Microsoft certified computer specialist are splashed around the humble locality of Lahore’s Nabi Park area. One of the residents, seven-year-old Muhammad Huzair Awan, scored highly on a certification exam.
It has been a week since the shy third-grader, cleared his Microsoft Certification exam.
While Awan is to receive his official certificate from Microsoft by mid-July, he has received his scores.
The Microsoft exam taken by him tests the installation of programmes, upgrading and migrating to Windows 7, configuring hardware and applications, configuring network connectivity, configuring mobile computing amongst other computing tasks.
40 held over tourists killing
Islamabad: At least 40 suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of 11 persons including ten foreign tourists at a base camp of Nanga Parbat in Pakistan’s Diameer district of Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday.
Army and police teams along with other supporting agencies are continuing search operation at Babusar Buner and Sarri Maiddo areas to arrest the culprits.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif described the attack on the foreign tourists in the Pakistani territories as the worst terrorist act against national sovereignty of his country.
PIA pilot averts crash in Lahore
Lahore: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight escaped disaster yesterday morning as pilot managed to land the aircraft after a bird hit its engine.
Lahore Airport sources said the PIA’s Airbus 310, on a flight from Kuwait, was approaching to land at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore when a bird hit its one of the engines.
However, pilot maneuvered the aircraft and landed safely with all the passengers on board.
