Over QR220,000 was raised to support Rota’s My Education… My Hope campaign in Nepal, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Yemen.

DOHA: Reach Out To Asia (Rota) officials thanked hundreds of volunteers, exclusive sponsor and local partners for contributing to the success of the Eighth Ramadan Project, ‘Sharing Blessings’ which concluded yesterday.
In partnership with OXY Qatar, and with the support of volunteers, Rota hosted community Iftars, celebrated Garangao events with children at hospitals, packed and distributed groceries to over 200 needy families, and renovated six KG classrooms and an outdoor playground at Bangladesh School in Abu Hamour.
A silent auction was held to support Rota’s My Education… My Hope campaign and raised over QR220,000 to support Rota educational projects in Nepal, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Yemen.
“Thank you and congratulations to each of our volunteers for working tirelessly for their community – not only as caring neighbours, but also as role models.
“I would like to thank our exclusive sponsor and long-time partner, OXY Qatar, for making the undertaking possible. The impact of the project, which aimed to give back to the community that has given us so much, will be felt by needy families, students and civic workers in Qatar beyond Ramadan,” said Rota Executive Director, Essa Al Mannai.
Rota’s Volunteer Programme worked with Social Development Centre (SDC), and Qatar Foundation’s Facilities Management Directorate to benefit from their expertise and maximise the local reach and impact of the project.
“This is the eighth successful year for Rota’s campaign,” said Rota’s National Programme Director, Mohamed Al Saleh.
Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager, Oxy Qatar, said: “For the third year in a row, the company has had the privilege of sponsoring the project. We have seen how this year’s programme built on the success of last year’s and we hope to see it continue to grow in the years to come. Our thanks to all volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to make this campaign possible.
