DOHA: The Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understating with Aspire Zone Foundation for enhancing cooperation in raising public awareness about the risks of drugs.
Director General of Public Security and the Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs (PCDAA) Staff Maj Gen. Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi and Hilal Jaham Al Kuwari chairman of the Aspire Zone Foundation signed the agreement.
Director of Medical Services Department and member of PCDAA Brigadier Muhammed Sultan Al Khulaifi, Director of Drugs Enforcement Administration Brigadier Ibrahim Eisa Al Buainain, Director of Legal Affairs Department Brigadier Hamad Ahmed Al Muhannadi, Secretary of the PCDAA Maj Ibrahim Mohammed Al Sumaih and a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior attended the signing ceremony.
In a statement issued to the media after the ceremony, Staff Maj Gen Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi said that the MoU aims to promote cooperation in the field of preventive culture and sports activities and address the menace of drugs.
“The MoU consists of many articles such as strengthening joint cooperation in the field of developing and executing preventive training and media campaigns, supporting the activities and projects of preventive education that has relation with the sports activities and exchanging technical information and knowledge expertise in the field of sports education,” said Al Khulaifi.
The PCDAA always attempts to enhance and develop cooperation, coordination and partnership with officials and local agencies in the country for unifying the efforts against drugs’ commented the Chairman of the PCDAA.
On his part, the Aspire Zone chairman Hilal Al Kuwari stressed on the importance of this MoU and described it as a roadmap between the Ministry of Interior and Aspire Zone. We extend our support to the PCDAA under the Ministry of Interior, which plays a major role in the protection of the human capital of the country, as a part of our belief in protecting the people of our society from drugs and its social, psychological and health consequences, added the Aspire Zone chairman.
