Doha, Qatar: The Al Baldah Star will be visible in the skies over Qatar today, January 28, 2026, marking the second and the final phase of the Shabat season.
The Qatar Meteorology Department said that with the rising of the Al Baldah Star, which lasts for 13 days, cold weather will continue, but its intensity is expected to ease towards the end of this two-week period. It added that winds will gradually shift to a southerly direction, with rain-bearing clouds appearing at times.
According to media reports, Shabat is the second phase of winter and is made up of two periods - Al Nae'aem and Al Baldah - each lasting 13 days.
