Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has issued a list of 47 private schools that have received the Gold Classification for their outstanding efforts to strengthen national identity and foster core values among students, said an official.

Guidance Consultant at the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at the Ministry, Hussain Al-Yafie said the recognition comes within the framework of the educational initiative “My Values Draw My Identity” (Qiyami Tarsum Hawiyati), a national project designed to reinforce students’ values and deepen their sense of belonging and national identity.

Speaking to Qatar TV yesterday Al-Yafie explained that the project focuses on helping students understand their values and identity and how to preserve them through an integrated educational and moral approach.

The initiative aims to develop balanced individuals who are grounded in strong values, stability, and love for the homeland.

He noted that the Gold Classification was not granted arbitrarily, but rather as a result of sustained and continuous efforts by schools over an extended period, adding that these efforts included educational programmes, school-based activities, awareness campaigns, lectures, and value-driven educational outputs.

He stressed that showcasing these schools is a deserved acknowledgment of their commitment and a source of pride in the achievements of their students who actively participated throughout the project’s implementation.

Al-Yafie added that highlighting these schools also sends an important message to other educational institutions, parents, and the wider community, that a school is not merely a building or an academic institution, but a comprehensive educational environment that promotes discipline, values, identity, belonging, and national loyalty.

The “My Values Draw My Identity” project runs for three years, from 2024 to 2027, and aims to build upon plans and programmes that began in 2021.

The initiative is implemented under the supervision of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens in the Private Education Sector, in cooperation with Tarbiyah Center, with the goal of reinforcing educational values among students through integrated school campaigns and activities.

The project is distinguished by providing specialised educational resources to support students, enabling them to adopt values and apply them in their daily lives.

This approach seeks to promote holistic education, strengthen Qatari national identity and cultural awareness in private schools and kindergartens, and empower students to view values as practical tools for addressing daily challenges. It also contributes to developing students’ communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

The initiative reflects the Ministry’s broader vision of integrating academic learning with moral education, ensuring that schools play a central role in shaping students’ character alongside educational excellence.
