Even though none of her apparel bore conspicuous logos, Internet users managed to identify one manufacturer as Exception based in the southern city of Guangzhou. It confirmed on its verified weibo, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter, that it made some of Peng’s clothes, with Wuyong, another Chinese label.

China imprisons 20 in Xinjiang
Beijing: China sentenced 20 men to terms of up to life imprisonment for involvement in terrorism and “inciting secession” in the ethnically-divided western region of Xinjiang, state media said. They were convicted of crimes, including circulating religious extremist material and attempting to set up an Internet chat room to promote “ethnic separatism”, the Tianshan news website said.
Mother jailed for deaths of kids
TOKYO: A 25-year-old mother whose two young children starved to death surrounded by rubbish after she locked them in her apartment has been sentenced to 30 years in jail in Japan, reports said yesterday. Single mother Sanae Nakamura regularly left her daughter, 3, and one-year-old son in the apartment in western Osaka while she spent the night at her boyfriend’s house.
