DOHA: The Japanese embassy will showcase the best Hokkaido can offer to tourists at the Hokkaido Fair on Saturday.
Organised by the embassy in cooperation with the Hokkaido Bureau of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the fair will begin at 7pm at the Japanese ambassador’s residence.
Hokkaido, a north region of Japan, has many resources that attract tourists from all over the world, from its winter sports performed on high quality snow to its beautiful and magnificent scenery to its excellent agricultural and marine products, dietary supplements and cosmetics, among others.
The event will introduce Hokkaido to people in Qatar, highlighting tourism resources.
It will allow visitors to try cosmetics made in Hokkaido, and sample scrumptious food catered by Junko Sushi & Japanese Dining (formerly Midori) and the embassy.
Ambassador Kenjiro Monji and Toshikazu Masuyama, Director General of Hokkaido Bureau, will speak at the opening of the fair.
The event will also feature several Japanese small and medium enterprises that will display their products. Officials from these enterprises will give presentations.
These companies, which are members of the Hokkaido business mission coming to Doha, include Hokkaido Association for Bio-Bushiness, Amino Up Chemical Company, Katsuri Inc, Hokkaido Bio-Industry Corporation, HABA Laboratories Inc, Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Corporative and Kinki Nippon Tourist Hokkaido Company.
