ISLAMABAD: Pakistan security authorities arrested last night sixty people in northwest Pakistan.

Pakistani security sources said police, army and intelligence personnel waged a joint operation at Noshahr in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan and arrested 60 suspects.

They explained that the arrested persons, who reside near Rasalpur Air Base in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, were arrested because they do not carry identity cards.

The sources added that the operation came in the wake of recent attacks on Karachi airport and Peshawar, adding that security measures have been tightened around Rasalpur Air Base.  (QNA)
