The Ambassador of India, P Kumaran, who is also the Patron of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) in Qatar, inaugurated the new website of the Indian Cultural Centre yesterday.
The website now has various additional features beneficial to the ICC members and the Indian Community at large. A new job portal is being included in the Website, which will allow community job seekers in Qatar to upload their resumes in the portal.
The potential employers can visit the website and access the database from the available prospects. The website also has useful links from India & Qatar related to Tourism, Business etc, which may be of interest to the community. Along with the above, another important feature added is “Online Membership to ICC”. Any Indian community member who wishes to take membership can do it through the website.
The Ambassador was updated on the forthcoming programs of the Indian Cultural center which included the major events like the Indian Community Festival ‘Passage to India’, Cultural Competition for Interschool and Inter Associate organisation, Tournaments for Chess, Karate and Kalari.
ICC President also briefed the envoy on the Managing committee efforts to provide a number of privileges to ICC members which included a plan for group insurance and benefits at various outlets and vendors. He also added on ICC initiatives to support the India Qatar year of Culture by weekly cultural programs at the Ashoka Hall in ICC premises.
The meeting was attended by Coordinating Officer of ICC, Rajesh Kamble , who is Counsellor (Consular & Community Affairs) at the Embassy of India.
