Two Qataris enter pre-finals of Stars of Science contest

DOHA: Two Qataris, Jabir Al Hanzab and Khaled Abu Jassoom,  have qualified for the pre-final round of the popular Stars of Science contest, meant for budding inventors from all the GCC countries.

The contest is supported by 33 private and governmental organisations and institutions in Qatar from health, science, sports and IT sectors.

The duo are among the six Qataris who took part in the contest which offers a whopping $300,000 to the first prize winner.

Khalid Eid from Kuwait won 81 points closely followed by Jabir Al Hanzab, who presented an automatic home pharmacy, with 80.5 points. Jassoom came fourth with his automatic cooking machine and 67.7 points. Ameena Al Khawaj from Bahrain came third in the qualifying round.
