Off-road stunt driving is not recreation

We cannot accept the excuse given by youth that their practice of “off-roading” or driving cars or “banshees” on the beautiful sand dunes of the Sealine area is a kind of a release of repressed energy.
We cannot accept such justifications or excuses because there are many ways for youth to release their energy.
Recreation or entertainment can never be or never will be had by committing self-destruction, which is what is happening with our youth now during every holiday or camping season, particularly in a place like Sealine.
Worse than the justifications and excuses given by youth is the lack of deterrent or preventive measures, whether at the official level, where mechanisms of prevention and deterrence by force of law exist, or at the social level through civil society institutions, which currently have no role in this issue, or at the family level, where the power of families over their sons has become weak.
Families are losing their sons in road accidents and stunt driving mishaps. The issue comes up in the news and then disappears for a while, only to reappear after another tragedy. This happens repeatedly and hits innocent families.
Allah created the sand dunes so that people could enjoy seeing them and the sea and think, meditate and relieve their hearts and minds, and not for practising reckless stunt driving or to annoy others and hurt families.
The Ministry of Interior should act, using the preventive and deterrent legal tools, to ban off-roading and stunt driving. It is not enough to issue warnings and call for more awareness.
The Ministry of Environment is also responsible, for protecting the environment and the dunes, which are as important as gardens and natural resources.
This recklessness, spilling of the blood of youth, and pain of families must be prevented.
