DOHA: During an ongoing campaign against abandoned vehicles in Al Wakra, inspectors put stickers on at least 65 cars parked in unauthorised places, asking their owners to remove them.
The cars were singled out for violating parking rules in the past three days until Wednesday in different areas of the town, including Al Wukair.
After the end of a deadline specified on the stickers, the vehicles will be towed away by officials from the local municipality and the Traffic Department.
Municipalities and traffic authorities have set up joint teams to single out abandoned cars across the country.
Thousands of cars are being caught, so motorists would do better to ensure they park their vehicles in permitted places and keep them clean so the cars don’t look abandoned and are not removed.
The campaign is also focusing on portacabins installed illegally in different areas. One was removed by civic and traffic officials from Al Dafna area on Wednesday. The Peninsula
