DPS Modern Indian School Kindergarten students marked World Book Day recently.
On this occasion, a visit to the school library was organised for the tiny tots. The primary motive was to encourage a love for books and eventually cultivate a habit of reading among students. Students were eager and enthusiastic to see the fairy tales and other comics they love, in form of books.
As a part of the World Book Day celebration, the Preparatory section also took the initiative to inculcate among students a habit of reading and educate them on the importance of ‘giving’ as well.
Each student was asked to get a neatly gift-wrapped, age-appropriate storybook of their choice. An arrangement was made to draw chits by which students exchanged the books they brought.
Students presented their books to another student whose name they picked up from the chits. Students were excited about the activity and were seen waiting for their turn with great zeal.
The activities organised by Kindergarten to celebrate World Book Day made students imbibe an understanding of the significance of books and reading.
