PM visits Cityscape

The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani is briefed about real estate developments during his visit to Cityscape 2013, yesterday. 
 


DOHA: The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani visited Cityscape Qatar 2013 yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Centre.

He visited stands of leading Qatari companies such as Ezdan Holding Group, Qatari Diar, Al Bandary Real Estate, Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development, Mall of Qatar as well as the winners of the Cityscape Awards held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday.

On its second year, the awards recognise outstanding individuals and companies who are leaders in delivering exceptional real estate developments in the fast developing Qatari market.

“The Cityscape Awards were created to incentive the industry in their continued pursuit of excellence, the ceremony highlighting and rewarding outstanding projects in Qatar’s real estate industry,” said Deep Marwaha, Group Director, Informa Exhibitions.

“Cityscape Awards offer international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform from which to communicate a shared vision for the future, from culturally integrated city skylines to sustainable urban communities,” he added.

Numerous nominations were received from industry professionals and companies that have shown outstanding real estate developments for both completed and planned projects in the country. 

Winners included Barwa Real Estate Group, United Development Company-UDC and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Barwa Real Estate Group won the Commercial and Mixed Use Project Award for Barwa Commercial Avenue.

“With Barwa Commercial Avenue scheduled to open by the third quarter of the year, this award further reinforces the importance of the development within the border community’s economic development. We are confident that this visionary 8.5km iconic mixed use development will transform the industrial area into what will become Doha’s new commercial, industrial and lifestyle destination,” said Head of Communications, Barwa Real Estate Group, Hamed Rashed Al Kuwari.

United Development Company bagged two awards including the Residential Project Award and the Retail, Leisure and Tourism Project Award for The Pearl Qatar.
