DOHA: Recent developments in Qatar’s expanding economy will be  highlighted in a new documentary airing on Fox 5 New York in the US later this year.

The documentary is being made by US Television, an independent production house that specialises in producing business documentaries.

A team of journalists have been in Qatar the past few months preparing the programme and identifying key sectors of the economy to be highlighted.

“A lot has happened since we were last here in 2008,” said Marijana Guduric, a programme coordinator from US Television.

“The American audience has a strong interest in Qatar, and there are developments, investment potential, and trade opportunities they need to be updated on.”

US Television has previously produced three reports on Qatar in 2005, 2006, and 2008. In addition, the company has produced successful programmes in Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Dubai.

Keynote speakers in the programme will include Dr Saleh Al Nabit, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Development Planning, Robert Hagger, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, and Dr Hessa Al Jaber, Secretary General of ictQatar, among others.

While the programme’s chief goal is to highlight investment opportunities and business developments, it will also define Qatar’s important strategic international relationships, sustainability initiatives, and cultural heritage.
