Doha, Qatar: As the new school year starts tomorrow, the Ministry of Transport has highlighted the role of Qatar’s integrated and sustainable transport network in supporting the safe and efficient return to schools.
The Ministry in a social media post stated that Qatar’s transport network helps facilitate students’ daily journeys while providing greater peace of mind for families.
It noted that the country’s integrated transport network and advanced infrastructure contribute to enabling students to reach their schools safely and efficiently, supporting the stability of their educational journey.
The Ministry also stressed that the daily journey to school provides an opportunity to instil conscious and responsible transport habits among children that can remain with them throughout their lives.
It encouraged families to help children develop basic trip-planning skills, including identifying suitable routes in advance and choosing appropriate travel times to reach school safely and avoid congestion.
It also highlighted the importance of promoting a safe and sustainable mobility culture by encouraging children to use integrated and environmentally friendly transport options.
Additionally, children should be taught safety rules and responsible behaviour when using school buses and public transport.
The Ministry noted that an integrated transport system contributes to safer and more efficient mobility for students, teachers and parents, facilitating access to schools and enhancing the overall quality of life in Qatar.
