DOHA: Experienced Qatari midfielder Wisam Rizq celebrated his 100 appearances for club football in the country with a unique ceremony ahead of Eljaish’s clash against Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Sadd.
Before the start of the third-round QSL clash at Lekhwiya Stadium, Rizq was presented a jersey by Spanish star Raul who captains Al Sadd.
Rizq, 32, moved to Eljaish after helping Al Sadd to the QSL title last season.
Eljaish later beat Al Sadd 1-0 on Friday.
Rizq, a popular figure in QSL, thanked his fans and team-mates for the ‘special ceremony’.
The tall midfielder was part of Al Sadd side that won the AFC Champions League title in November 2011. THE PENINSULA
