Agra: Work on Agras IT Park will begin November 25.
This was stated by Abhishek Arun Gupta, joint chairman of the IT cell of the National Chamber of Industries and Commerce in Agra.
Gupta said officials in Lucknow had asked the chamber to secure 100 acres of government land for setting up the IT Park.
“I have had detailed discussions with the principal secretary IT as well as the minister of protocol Abhishek Mishra and the chief secretary. All have assured me that the Agra IT Park project will be taken up immediately after the Lucknow IT project bidding is completed Nov 21,” Gupta said.
Agra’s case for an IT Park has been hanging fire for two decades, after the Supreme Court put a ban on polluting industries in the Taj Trapezium eco-sensitive zone.
Gupta said his demand for free access to Internet to those who have been gifted laptops had been accepted by the Uttar Pradesh government and “very soon this will be announced”.
Railway information on smart phones
New Delhi: Over 25 million rail passengers can now find useful information regarding their train routes and stations at the click of a button on their smart phones.
RailYatri.in has launched a National Railyatri Alert System (NRAS) — an information system that helps passengers find information on their route, train or destination on their Internet enabled phone.
To get alerts, passengers need log on to m.railyatri.in on their mobile phone browser and click on the National RY Alerts System, a release said yesterday.
More mobile vans to sell onions in Delhi
New Delhi: The Delhi government may increase the number of mobile vans selling onions if the need arises, Delhi’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf said yesterday.
“We have deployed 125 mobile vans and each will cover five-six places. The onions at these vans are being sold at Rs50 a kg,” Yusuf said.
The spiralling prices of onions prompted the Delhi government to seek last week permission from the Election Commission to sell onions through mobile vans — as the model code of conduct is in place for the coming Delhi assembly elections. “We will do everything possible to contain onion prices,” said Yusuf.
