Manchester, United Kingdom: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands at half-time of his side's Premier League home game against Burnley on Saturday.

The Portuguese took up a seat among the home fans at the start of the second half, but had to move twice and ended up sitting in the Old Trafford directors' box.

Reports suggested he had been expelled from the dug-out by referee Mark Clattenburg for protesting after Matteo Darmian had a penalty appeal dismissed late in the first half.

United dominated the first half, but the score was 0-0 at half-time.

Mourinho was charged by the Football Association this week after talking about referee Anthony Taylor prior to United's recent 0-0 draw at Liverpool.

He has until Monday to respond to the charge and is due to face a disciplinary hearing.

United were seventh in the Premier League ahead of the weekend action, having lost 4-0 at Mourinho's former club Chelsea on their most recent league outing last weekend.
