Doha: Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari said that the State of Qatar has become a top destination when it comes to international sporting events.
This achievement was the yield of directives from the country's wise leadership and the support of President of the QOC HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Al Kuwari was speaking to reporters during the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters for Golf, taking place in Doha Golf Club. Al Kuwari described the competition as one of the most prominent in golf where a number of ranked players ensure they participate in each year.
He thanked President Golf Association Hassan Nasser Al Nuaimi for their success in organizing the competition.
On Qatar's activity in hosting sporting events, Al Kuwari noted that the country organizes more than 50 competitions a year.
