DOHA: Challenges and opportunities of fast-expanding business education in the region will be discussed at European Foundation for Management Development’s (EFMD) 2015 EFMD MENA Conference next month.
It will bring together deans, assistant deans, director of programmes from business schools and those in charge of international relations or with an interest in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Representatives from the corporate world will also attend the forum between April 12 and 14 to be held under the theme ‘Building Dynamic Networks and Partnerships for the Middle East and North Africa region’.
HEC Paris has co-designed and organised the event with EFMD and it will be hosted by HEC Paris in Qatar. “The conference is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and will contribute to advancing knowledge and practices in management education in Qatar. Topics fit within the development of the knowledge-based economy. Some will focus on the need of management development programmes that can be related directly to expectations of Qatarisation,” Prof Laoucine Kerbache, Dean & CEO, HEC Paris in Qatar, told this daily.
“The countries in the Mena region share the same key challenges to create wealth, jobs and transform their management education in a fast changing and competitive world. To reach these goals, the MENA Business Schools have a leading role to play.” The forum will focus on the specific geopolitical environment of the Mena region, analyse its impacts on local business schools, challenges of management education and share expectations from executives. EFMD is a global, membership driven organisation based in Brussels, Belgium, with offices in Geneva, Hong Kong and Miami. Its network includes over 800 institutional members and reaches over 25,000 management development professionals from academia, business, public service and consultancy across 82 countries.
