HAMBURG: Egypt’s state-owned Food Industries Holding Company (FIHC) has bought 9,000 tonnes of soy oil and 12,000 tonnes of sunflower oil in an international tender that closed yesetrday, European traders said. Sunfflower noil was sold by Nidera at $1,169.96 a tonne c&f. The soy oil was of Egyptian production sold by Alexandra Seeds at 7,550 Egyptian pounds a tonne or the equivalent of $1,057.00 a tonne, traders said. The tender sought oil for June and July arrival. Traders said other offers in the first round of the sunflower oil tender in dollars a tonne c&f were: Toepfer 12,000 tonnes at $1,173.00 a tonne and Glencore 12,000 tonnes at $1,179.00 a tonne.
Along with its winning offer of $1,169.96, Nidera also offered 12,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $1,163.93 a tonne for arrival between June 20 to July 20. Traders said offers in the first round of the soy oil tender in dollars a tonne c&f were: Alexandra Seeds 9,000 tonnes at 7,555 Egyptian pounds or the equivalent of $1,057.70 a tonne, and Watania (Cargill) 7,500 tonnes at 7,575 Egyptian pounds or the equivalent of $1,060.50 a tonne.
