DOHA: The Patient Classification Systems International (PCSI) Conference 2014 will be hosted by the Supreme Council of Health in October under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health H E Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani.
Registration is open via the conference website www.pcsi2014.qa until September 12.
The first in the Middle East, the event will be held between October 20 and 23 under the theme ‘Patient Information for Better Choice’.
It will include presentations from renowned keynote speakers, including Dr Sinia Varga, Minister of Health of Croatia, Professor Elias Mossialos from London School of Economics, Professor Dr Reinhard Busse from Berlin University of Technology, Julian Pettengill from the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission in the US and Ibrahim Muhanna from the Muhanna Foundation in Lebanon.
The 30th forum will gather works and experiences of experts in case-mix and wider areas of healthcare provision. Around 300 specialist delegates from around the world — from academia to health ministries, hospitals and non-government organizations, are expected to attend. Abstract submission is open via the PCSI website www.pcsinternational.org.
The PCSI is the only worldwide organisation addressing case mix issues. In the past years, the conference has brought together a growing number of participants from all over the world. From a group of six “idealists” from Western Europe and the US, the organisation has grown to hundreds of members.
