Qatar elected to ACAO Executive Council and Committees

Rabat: The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), participated in the 74th Executive Council Meeting and the 29th General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), held on June 29-30 in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.

The Qatari delegation was headed by In Charge of Managing QCAA Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri.

During the General Assembly, the State of Qatar was elected to the Executive Council of ACAO. It also secured membership on the following technical committees: the Air Transport Committee, the Environment Committee, the Media and Corporate Communication Committee, and the Financial and Administrative Oversight Committee. This achievement reflects the confidence enjoyed by the State of Qatar among the member states and its active role in supporting joint Arab cooperation and advancing the Arab civil aviation sector.

The General Assembly also approved the appointment of the State of Qatar, represented by Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri, as Chair of ACAO's Financial and Human Resources Committee. This appointment reflects Qatar's distinguished standing and the member states' recognition of its capabilities and expertise in supporting the Organization's work and contributing to the enhancement of its institutional performance.

During the meeting, Al Hajri commended the efforts made over the past period in managing the Executive Council's work and the achievements that have contributed to advancing the Organization's mission and strengthening its role in the development of the Arab civil aviation sector.

He emphasized that the meeting represents an important opportunity to enhance joint Arab cooperation and coordination in light of the challenges facing the sector, while continuing to develop operational, technical, and legislative frameworks to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency in civil aviation.

He also reaffirmed the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting ACAO's efforts and all initiatives aimed at achieving its objectives and strengthening cooperation and the exchange of expertise among member states.

The Executive Council Meeting and General Assembly also discussed a number of topics related to aviation safety and security, infrastructure development, environmental issues, innovation and digital transformation, as well as mechanisms for strengthening cooperation among Arab states and reviewing ways to implement the Organization's strategic objectives, thereby contributing to the advancement of joint Arab action and the continued development of the Arab air transport sector.
