Nine suspects held in Karachi

Islamabad: Pakistani rangers initiated a search operation late on Sunday night after getting a tip-off regarding the presence of criminals in Patel Para area of Karachi, and held seven suspects while two target killers were also arrested, Pakistan’s Geo News reported yesterday.

Earthquake hits Islamabad

Islamabad: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale today jolted Pakistan’s capital city of Islamabad. Pakistani meteorology sources said the earthquake also hit each of Peshawar, Nowshera and other adjoining areas.

Pakistanis want defence cut

KARACHI: Thirty-eight percent of Pakistanis recommend Pakistan should go for peace talks with India without the resolution of Kashmir.

Thirty-two percent think a reduction in the defence budget will improve the health, education and development sectors .
