Doha: Qatargas employees have made a financial contribution to the Myanmar Relief Campaign undertaken by The Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani Humanitarian Services (RAF).
The objective of the campaign is to deliver humanitarian aid to tens of thousands of Burmese refugees who have crossed into neighbouring Bangladesh to escape the sectarian violence in Myanmar.
Ghanim Al Kuwari, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer– Administration, handed over the cheque to Ayed Al Qahtani, General Manager and Head of the Board of Trustees of RAF, during a ceremony held at the Qatargas Head Office in Doha.
Al Kuwari said: “The positive response from our employees towards this humanitarian cause is a clear testament to their high sense of social commitment and concern for their fellow human beings, wherever in the world they may be. We would also like to commend RAF for their initiative and are pleased to support their philanthropic endeavours. We hope this will motivate other organisations to do the same.”
