Istanbul meetings unify Afghanistan-Pakistan ceasefire agreement mediated by Qatar, Turkiye

Further implementation procedures will be discussed at a meeting of senior officials in Istanbul on Nov 6

Doha: The State of Qatar, the Republic of Turkiye, Afghanistan, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan held meetings in Istanbul from October 25 to 30 to consolidate the ceasefire agreed upon by Afghanistan and Pakistan in Doha on October 18 and 19, under the mediation of Qatar and Turkiye.

During the meetings, all parties agreed to maintain the ceasefire. Further implementation procedures will be discussed and decided upon at a meeting of senior officials in Istanbul on November 6. 

All parties also agreed to establish a monitoring and verification mechanism to ensure the continuation of peace and to impose sanctions on any party found in violation. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's appreciation to the sisterly Republic of Turkiye for hosting these meetings and for its active efforts to consolidate the ceasefire through diplomatic channels.
