DOHA: More than 120 youth are showcasing their talents at Youth Got Talent 2013 (YGT) auditions at Youth Hub Qatar. The three-day auditions end today.
The YGT competition is one of the most anticipated segments of the annual Run The World Festival organised by The Youth Company (TYC) in partnership with Qatar Museums Authority and Qatar Olympic & Sports Museum.
For the third year running, TYC is hosting auditions, inviting participants to showcase talents in music, dance and more to the judges panel as solo performers, bands and crews, to be selected as contestants for the YGT finale during the Run The World Festival (RTWF) 2013 from December 19 to 21 at Katara Beach.
As the first youth-oriented talent show in Qatar, the YGT contest defines the element of entertainment in RTWF 2013, and presents youth to display talents before thousands of spectators online and on stage.
Participants undergo three stages.
The first is the auditions, after which voting will take place online via RTWF’s primary social media channels from December 3 onwards.
The second stage is semi-finals at Virgin Megastores.
Auditions welcome solo performers between 14 and 17 years. Participants are judged by artists and experts, including international beatboxing champion, Ahmad Abazaid, and artist Radi El Zouhby.
“Auditions are not a boring process for the youth to impress the judges,” said Abazaid.
“Each day of auditions serve as a fun and exciting event that involves the audience cheering on the performers, comic moments and memories, and a preview of the amazing shows to come, he said.
“These make up the whole journey of YGT and RTWF 2013 and we’re looking forward to who’s going to make it to the big stage this year,” said Abazaid.
