DOHA: Qtel customers can now enjoy their holiday season travels even more using Qtel Passport, the award-winning roaming service.
Customers, whether travelling far or visiting neighbouring countries in the GCC, can stay in-touch and connected with Qtel Passport’s 100 roaming minutes for all calls and 1GB of roaming data for only QR100.
The service is available to Qtel customers on 60 mobile networks in 35 countries around the world, including the GCC, Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States of America. With many people leaving Qatar for year end holidays, the service is proving particularly popular as it covers some of the most-travelled winter destinations in Europe such as the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
Qtel Passport is valid for seven days from activation, but can be renewed an unlimited number of times for longer trips. Both Hala and Shahry customers can subscribe to Qtel Passport by sending a free SMS or by calling a Qtel call centre whenever they need the service.
Qtel Passport can be activated in any of the covered countries at any time. Shahry customers need to send an SMS reading “QP” to 114, while Hala customers must send an SMS reading “QP” to 121. Hala customers need a minimum credit balance of QR100 to use the Qtel Passport. If customers use up their Qtel Passport allowance during the seven-day period, then they will be charged QR1 per 1MB of data or QR1 per minute until the 7-day duration expires, after which standard rates will apply.
Qtel Passport is available in Australia (Telstra), Algeria (Wataniya), Bahrain (Batelco, Zain, Viva), Bangladesh (Airtel, Robi), Canada (Bell, Telus), Czech Republic (O2), Denmark (TDC), Egypt (Vodafone, Mobinil, Etisalat Misr), France (Bouygues), Germany (O2), Hong Kong (China Mobile), India (Idea, Vodafone), Indonesia (XL), Iraq (Asiacell), Ireland (O2), Italy (TIM, Wind), Jordan (Zain), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Zain, Mobily, STC), Kuwait (Viva, Zain, Wataniya), Malaysia (Celcom, Maxis), Maldives (Watanyia), Oman (Nawras), Palestine (Wataniya), Philippines (Globe), Singapore (Starhub, M1), Sri Lanka (Dialog, Mobitel), Switzerland (Swisscom), Thailand (Truemove, AIS, Total Access), Tunisia (Tunisiana), Turkey (Avea, Turkcell), United Arab Emirates (etisalat, du), United Kingdom (3, Everything Everywhere, O2) and the USA (T Mobile and AT&T).
